A Brief History of the Sabha
The origins of the SVSS (Sri Vishnu Sahasranaama Sabha) Trust can be traced back to the year 2004. It started with the chanting of Hanuman Chalisa and Sri Vishnu Sahasranaamam in the residence of one of the devotees. This Sahasranaama chanting was followed by explaining the meaning of each naama of the Sahasranaamam.
It was later decided that the chanting should be done in the temple premises so that more devotees can join the group and the Vishnu Sahasranaamam can be propagated more effectively. The Kalpak Mitra Mandal Temple became the focal point of Sabha activities and thus started the tradition of chanting in the Temple on Saturday.
The Saturday program Sequence is as follows:
Hanuman Chalisa; Vishnu Sahasranaama; Apadhuddharaka stotram; Lakshmi Ashtotra Sata Naamavali; Lakshmi Ashtakam; Bhajans; Aarti & Mangalam songs; Mantrapushpam
The Saturday program starts at 19:30 hrs and ends around 21:00 hrs.
In 2008 the Satsangam started the chanting of Lalita Sahasranaamam on every Friday at 19:30.
In 2009 the chanting of Kandar Shasti Kavacham on every Shasti at 19:30 was started.
